the grab back art show
I was so happy to be a part of a pop-up art show on Wednesday called The Grab Back! It was all artwork promoting women empowerment. Read more about it on this Vanyaland article. 70% of the sales and 100% raffle went to Planned Parenthood. Thanks to everyone who joined us for such a special event. The show took place on 1/18/2017 from 6-9pm @ Hatch Fenway Thanks to everyone who come out!
Here is the photograph of mine that was accepted into the show. This a Peruvian woman in the outskirts of Juliaca. Peruvians generally frown upon outsiders taking pictures of the women, so I had to be discreet and act quickly. In a some ways, the elders of the community were a physical representation of what it’s like to live in such a geographically hard place.
Here is the show in full swing. Pun intended. The Hatch at Fenway is a wonderful place to host!

Designer Anya Vedmid and Illustrator Scott Murry’s wife Jana helping people out with the raffle.
Here we are with Scott and friends setting up the show. Looking forward to the next Grab Back show!
